I like her books。 This was set during prohibition and I kept picturing Boardwalk Empire。 However this setting in Texas not as “glamorous “。 Entertaining book not full of the mystery in most of hers。 But Lordy she can tell a story。

I listened to the audiobook version of this book。 The narrator was very good, with the exception of the love scenes。 It was very awkward to hear this particular narrator during these parts。The book ensnared my attention right from the beginning, and just when I seemed to have figured some things out, other additional details were revealed that changed things。 It wasn't really a mystery per se, but we do watch as Thatcher puts all the pieces together, but the readers know things he doesn't。 Laure I listened to the audiobook version of this book。 The narrator was very good, with the exception of the love scenes。 It was very awkward to hear this particular narrator during these parts。The book ensnared my attention right from the beginning, and just when I seemed to have figured some things out, other additional details were revealed that changed things。 It wasn't really a mystery per se, but we do watch as Thatcher puts all the pieces together, but the readers know things he doesn't。 Laurel was TSTL。 I had several moments of screaming at her NOO! What are you doing?!! She had no business telling Gert about saving Corinne。 She should have just saved Corrine and moved on。 She shouldn't have let the mayor and shoe salesman into her house when she was alone。 She should have been more forthcoming with some of the events with her father in law so that they would be aware of the danger they were in。Thatcher was an ok character, but something about his pursuit of Laurel rubbed me the wrong way。 And maybe I don't know anything but it almost seemed like he took advantage of her grief (and lack of clear head) (view spoiler)[after the shootout involving, and the death of one of the twins。 (hide spoiler)]I was overall shocked to learn that this book was released in 2021, because it read like an old 90s or 00s book。There should have been a content/trigger warning for this book:(view spoiler)[There was violent physical and sexual assault on page of a side character (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

I’m not the biggest fan of historical fiction and this book didn’t change my mind about that。

Liked the Prohibition-era setting and the complex plot was good。 A bit long in parts but overall I really enjoyed this read。 Always can count on Sandra Brown for a light thriller/mystery with

This western romance resorts to every trick in the book and still only manages to be a passable story。 Thatcher Hutton stretches credibility in every way imaginable: his size, his amazing shooting and fighting skills, his unfailing sense of right and wrong, and his magical way with horses, not to mention the magical way he gets himself out of every difficult situation he lands in with little more than a few scratches and a layer of dust on his boots。 When he meets a moonshiner's down-on-her-luck This western romance resorts to every trick in the book and still only manages to be a passable story。 Thatcher Hutton stretches credibility in every way imaginable: his size, his amazing shooting and fighting skills, his unfailing sense of right and wrong, and his magical way with horses, not to mention the magical way he gets himself out of every difficult situation he lands in with little more than a few scratches and a layer of dust on his boots。 When he meets a moonshiner's down-on-her-luck daughter-in-law, he is chivalrous—until he fends off a nasty rooster and the woman (oopsie!) backs into his arms in her attempt to get away from the bird。That ignites the spark that turns the whole plot into a tangled tinderbox as Hutton gets roped into helping the sheriff。 He always seems to show up at the right place at the right time to help the damsel in distress。 Pretty soon, these appearances irritate her, but she sure doesn't do too much to fend them off, and loud protests give way to passionate kisses。 If Hutton pulled stunts like that today, most women would call him a stalker。So why did I keep reading? Because sometimes it's fun watching cardboard characters get played with, paired off, destroyed, and discarded。 Consider this my summer Happy Meal book of 2022。 I knew what to expect, and while it didn't taste good or memorable and it was not good for me, it hit all the genre checkpoints。 There's a huge market for books like this, just like there's a huge market for Happy Meals。 。。。more

I've read a good number of Sandra Brown books in the past - some I've really enjoyed and some not so much。 Parts of this book were really interesting - the look into Prohibition and the moonshine making business was very different from her novels in the past。 The romance in this book is a little lighter (less believable if I'm honest) than some of her other books in the past。 And I really did not care for the ending of this book, Laurel ends up just doing a complete 180 at the end and I just tho I've read a good number of Sandra Brown books in the past - some I've really enjoyed and some not so much。 Parts of this book were really interesting - the look into Prohibition and the moonshine making business was very different from her novels in the past。 The romance in this book is a little lighter (less believable if I'm honest) than some of her other books in the past。 And I really did not care for the ending of this book, Laurel ends up just doing a complete 180 at the end and I just thought it was a little odd。 Other than that was an interesting read! 。。。more

Does Sandra Brown truly write all the books that bear her name? If so she is a gifted author that can devise so many exciting plots。 Blind Tiger is such a terrific example of fascinating characters set in rural Texas during Prohibition。 I am tempted to give this book five stars as I was so taken with the plot, characters, and location。 I am familiar with the area in which this book takes place, though not in this time era。 My Sister lives in one town mentioned in the book, and also lived in anot Does Sandra Brown truly write all the books that bear her name? Historical to bootI have long been a Sandra Brown fan but I believe this is the first of her historical fiction I have read。 She hit the trifecta with this one: Romance, Mystery, and History!

Fun read! If you want an easy read that keeps you reading, this is the book。

I love Sandra Brown and this books is my FAVORITE written by her to date。 Blind Tiger is something completely different than what Brown usually writes。 Set in the 1920's it is full of romance, drama, suspense and thrill。 This is a MUST READ! I was a bit reluctant to read a prohibition book, but I hope this turns into a series。

Amanda Zhang

A really good story。 Cowboys, bootlegging, a love interest, murder, mystery—this has it all。 I was engaged the whole time。 CW: suicide, rape, death of a child

Martha Kuder

Interesting enough but predictable。

Ann

Probably the best Sandra Brown novel I have ever read。 Absolutely loved it!

Phyllis Ferrouillet

Pure Entertainment- fanciful characters- horrific villains- unforgettable protagonists, Thatcher and Laurel- a whimsical, well-written narrative

Veronica Valentino

This book was so good I think I would pick it up again, it was a mystery meets crime also meets spicy! The spice level, I would give it a two!

Caroline Hidalgo

A prohibition era setting, this one had good mix of suspense, fast paced, steaminess (not as much as her usual books), and a cast of characters you love and hate

Jill

Long and drawn out in some parts and some descriptions made it even longer。 Meh

Leek

This was really good。 Surprisingly about prohibition…I didn’t expect that。 Had I read the description, I might not have bought it。 Very different than her usual stories。 Both main characters were very likeable。 There was suspense, towards the end was even a little gritty, but it was slow, steady suspense with the idea that things would turn out more or less ok in the end。 She has certainly matured her writing skills since her earlier novels。

Judy Wallace

Always a fan。

Tiffany Romeo-Peragine

Decent enough story but man was the audio version brutal。 One narrator trying to change his voice for over 10 different characters。 And when he tried to talk like a women🫣 One character sounded like Mr。 Burns from the Simpsons and that’s all I could think about every time he spoke!

I received this book free in one of the giveaways and was super excited to get it since I'm a Sandra Brown fan。 However, for some reason it was hard for me to get into the story and took me longer than normal to read and finish。 The characters and story seemed not to draw me in as her books usually do。 The ending was good and not what I was expecting but otherwise it was mediocre。 I enjoyed it nonetheless! I struggled to finish this book。 A friend recommended it。 For me, I love Sandra Brown as an author, but this one was just a bit to long。

Marti Perronie

Loved this book。 It’s set during prohibition and you will love Laurel the main character。 She has a lot of heartache early in her life。 But she’s resilient and starts working with her father in law in his bootlegging business。 She has a slow burn romance with Thatcher a drifter that has stumbled into their town。 The town is on the verge of a moonshine war。

Ciera Rockliffe

Woof! This is such a fun read for the summer。 Adventure, thrills, romance, loss。 Ugh。 This needs to be made into a movie and Ryan Gosling needs to play Thatcher 🥵 always down for a 1920s prohibition-era moonshine war and some sexual tension to boot。

Rather disappointed in this book。 Usually, I'm a big fan of Mrs。 Brown's work, but this one left me feeling less than impressed。 It was slow and tedious, versus her typical exciting, thrilling style of writing。 The romance felt forced, instead of natural, and the characters lacked the dynamics that I love in her other novels。 Sad。 Rather disappointed in this book。 Usually, I'm a big fan of Mrs。 Brown's work, but this one left me feeling less than impressed。 It was slow and tedious, versus her typical exciting, thrilling style of writing。 The romance felt forced, instead of natural, and the characters lacked the dynamics that I love in her other novels。 Sad。 。。。more
